Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American British musician and sitarist. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and also the first female recipient. Alongside the nine Grammy awards She was also the very first Indian-origin musician to present at and perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging young star of the Indian sitar. She is a student as well as child of Ravi Shankar. Born in London in 1982. She began her life by hopping back and forth to London in London and New Delhi. When she was 13 she staged her debut performance in New Delhi. She graduated in 1999 from her high school studies in Encinitas CA. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman however she's got an remarkable career in the field of music and performance. Since a while, she has been performing regularly with her father. She released her debut self-titled album Anourag in 1998. She released the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years after. She has performed at most important venues across the world. Her career doesn't just include music. She released Bapi The Love of My Life in the year 2002. The book is a biography which pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. She also acted on film in 2003. Her role was an Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising star and her career is expected to continue growing. Anoushka Shankar is a British born singer who travelled her early days between London, Delhi and California. At the age of 9, she started studying music with her father. Her first performance with the Sitar took place at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi just four years later. Accompanying her father as his world tour, Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of performances at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens, performing in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival as well as performing together with George Harrison. As a tribute to her status as a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was awarded the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
